This is a view painted from the Limerick side of the River Shannon, looking across to County Clare.

The Shannon ebbs and flows with the rise and fall of the ocean’s tide. The pull of the Full Moon exaggerates this phenomenon, and, in combination with the brewing storm, will increase the chances of the Shannon bursting over her banks.
